CotonSport moved to the summit of the MTN Elite 1 with a narrow 1-0 victory over Panthere in Goroua on Sunday.
The defending champions overtook Université at the top of the table after five rounds of the competition, taking their 2010/11 season record to four wins and one defeat.
Université were held to a 1-1 draw by newly-promoted Caiman Club, who continued their fine start to the season which also included a win over CotonSport.
Union Douala stay in third after their 1-0 away win at Yong Sport Academy, arguably the result of the round.
Canon moved up to fourth with a second straight victory, this time beating last year's runners-up Astres FC 3-1. Astres continue to struggle this season and have managed just a single victory from their five games to date.
Unisport will be disappointed with their home draw with newly-promoted Scorpion, though the latter remain unbeaten this season with a win and four draws. Along with Université, they are one of just two sides yet to taste defeat.
Sable condemned Lausanne to their fifth-straight defeat as they won 2-0, the newly-promoted side finding life in the top-flight tough.
Finally, Tiko United and Renaissance drew 1-1 to round out the weekend's fixtures. The next round of games takes place on December 19, before the teams take a three-week break over the festive season.

la 9e journée de la Mtn Elite One (championnat du Cameroun de première division), s'est joué le dimanche 16 janvier 2010. Le fait marquant c'est la victoire des Astres de Douala (1-0) devant Unisport de Bafang. Ce dernier qui était deuxième après la 8e journée du championnat, se voit dépassé au classement par l'Union sportive de Douala, qui est allé gagné à Yaoundé (3-2) devant As Lausanne. Ce dernière équipe reste bon dernier du championnat avec un seul point son actif. Tandis que le leader Coton Sport maintient le cap grâce à sa victoire (2-1) devant Sable Fc de Batié. Coton Sport de Garoua est premier avec 20 points, Union est deuxième avec 17 points, alors que Unisport de Bafang clôture le podium avec 15 points. La 10e journée se dispute le dimanche 23 janvier prochain.
