Yebda Fears Missing World Cup

Hassan Yebda, Portsmouth
Algeria midfielder Hassan Yebda fears his World Cup dreams are over.
Yebda, 25, who was set to face England in the group stages in South Africa, saw a specialist yesterday about a persistent knee injury.
Yebda, currently on loan from Benfica, was told he could be out for three to eight weeks and may need surgery which would shatter his World Cup hope.
Yebda said: “I have seen the doctors and it has not been decided yet because everything now affects my future with Portsmouth and the World Cup.
“I do not want to risk missing South Africa but I cannot afford any complications now. I have to make the decision which is right for my fitness.”
