Camara is one of the longest-serving players in the side and played in his fourth successive MTN Africa Cup of Nations finals. Best remembered for the goals against Sweden at the 2002 World Cup finals which put Senegal into the quarter-finals. Found his club form in England during the season with surprise high-riders Wigan Athletic. Also played at Wolverhampton Wanderers and Southampton in England and the Scottish giants Glasgow Celtic. Scored seven goals in the World Cup qualifiers. Camara was a Swiss league winner with Grasshoppers Zurich in 2001 and also played at Sedan in France. Appeared in every match for Senegal at the 2006 MTN Africa Cup of Nations and scored against Zimbabwe and Guinea.
