Nigerian outfit Heartland have given themselves an excellent chance of qualifying for the African Champions League semifinals after earning a 0-0 Group B draw away to Tunisia’s Etoile du Sahel.

The result leaves Heartland on seven points, two behind group leaders TP Mazembe and three ahead of Etoile, with two games still to play.

But with a home game at their Dan Anyiam Stadium fortress in Owerri against Mazembe and then a winnable away fixture at Zimbabwean minnows Monomotapa, the club’s destiny is very much in their own hands.

The match in Etoile kicked off at 22h00 local time due to the Muslim Ramadan fasting season and was only completed close to midnight, with neither side able to find a goal.

In Group B's other fixture on Saturday, Mazembe completed a 2-0 away win in Zimbabwe against Monomotapa, with Alain Kaluyitukadioko and Given Singuluma on the scoresheet for the DR Congo side.
