Toure Named Footballer Of The Year

Cote d’Ivoire and Barcelona midfielder Yaya Toure has won his country’s Footballer of the Year crown, garnering almost twice as many votes as his nearest rival.
According to FIFA.com, Toure landed 39.58% of the vote, followed by goalkeeper Boubacar Copa Barry (Lokeren, Belgium) with 23.44% and finally Didier Drogba (Chelsea, England) on 16.47%.
Toure played his part as Barcelona claimed the UEFA Champions League, Spanish La Liga and Copa del Rey titles, and was also a regular for his side in the successful 2010 World Cup/Africa Cup of Nations campaign to date.
