| Returned to the Nigerian in September 2005 for the first time since the 2002 MTN Africa Cup of Nations finals. Turned down a call up for the last event in Tunisia. Scored against Paraguay in the 1998 World Cup finals in France, where he has spent most of his club career at Sochaux and now Olympique Marseille. Captain of Nigeria's under-16 world champion team in 1993. Started Nigeria’s first two matches at the 2006 MTN Africa Cup of Nations but the emergence of John Obi Mikel sidelined him and he only appeared again as a substitute in the third-place playoff. |
