Sao Tome restore some pride
The Congolese led 5-0 from the away leg last Friday so their passage was never in doubt and they were able to breeze through the Tuesday’s clash.
It would still have been a major shock were they to lose though and that looked on the cards as Orlando Gando put the visitors ahead.
But just a few minutes later the Congolese were level when Francis N'Gganga found the back of the net.
Congo will now take on Burkina Faso, Gabon and Niger in the group stages and might fancy themselves for an upset in what looks to be an open pool.
