Sudan held in Lesotho
Ramadan Agab Sharief for Sudan and Motlalepula Mofolo from Lesotho
Sudan have missed out on the chance to take a stranglehold on Group D in the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers after being held to a 0-0 draw by minnows Lesotho in Maseru on Sunday.
The Sudanese were heavy favourites going into the game having beaten African champions Zambia 2-0 at home last weekend, while Lesotho were thrashed 7-0 by Ghana in their last fixture.
The North African side will see the result as two points dropped, but in the end it might even have been worse for them had the home side not spurned a number of presentable opportunities to score.
The result means that Sudan head Group D with four points, followed by Ghana (three), Zambia (three) and Lesotho (one).
