Bradley is the son of coach Bob while some had felt he was being favoured with his inclusion in the team he quickly put those aside when he scored a brace of goals to see the US to a 2-0 win over arch rivals Mexico, during their opening game in the final phase of CONCACAF qualifying.

Bradley can play as a central or attacking midfielder and as he displayed he has an eye for finding the back of the net as well, he made his debut for the national team in March 2007
