Seven years after making he made his debut for the US Edson Buddle was called up to the national team by Bob Bradley, he was one of the surprise inclusions in the squad and his call up came from out of the blue.

With the US struggling in front of goal in 2010 and with Charlie Davies still nursing a series of injuries Bob Bradley was in need of extra reinforcements up front, Buddle provided the solution.

He began the 2010 MLS season by scoring nine goals in his first six games which earned him the inclusion in Bradley's squad.
