Nigeria thump Croatia to advance
Nigeria have advanced to the Last 16 of the 2011 FIFA Undcer-20 World Cup after a thumping 5-2 victory over Croatia on Wednesday.
The Flying Eagles top their D on goal-difference from Saudi Arabia having scored five goals in both their wins in the competition so far.
Nigeria took the lead after Abdul Ajagun’s pass found Olarenwaju Kayode, and the forward fired his shot low past the goalkeeper.
Edafe Egbedi and Ahmed Musa had chances to extend the lead before Terna Suswan finally did make it 2-0 with a thunderous strike from 30 yards.
The European side pulled a goal back before the interval as Zvonko Pamic’s free-kick was headed home by Ivan Lendric.
But the two-goal lead was restored after an hour when Musa scored from the right side of the penalty-area.
Croatia kept fighting though and made the score 3-2 when Pamic proved the provider again to supply Andrej Kramaric with another headed goal.
But the result was put beyond doubt as Uche Nwofor scored two goals in the space of four minutes to give the scoreline an emphatic look.

Wow Flying Eagles are going places and making Naija very proud. That perfomance was just world class, I'm happy for them and Egypt as they are representing Africa.
