Cameroon, Kiwis seek first points
Cameroon and New Zealand will both be playing for pride
when they meet in their final 2012 London Olympics Women’s Tournament match on
Tuesday.
Neither side has managed a point yet in a pool that also
includes Brazil and Great Britain, with Cameroon having conceded eight goals in
their two matches to date.
New Zealand will be the favourites to win this one, but
the African side can restore some pride with a positive result before they head
home.
The match at the City of Coventry Stadium should not be
used as a tune-up for the 2012 African Women’s Championships to be held in
Equatorial Guinea in November.
Cameroon coach Ngachu Enow will no doubt give the fringe
players a run and they will be able to stake a claim for the continental
showpiece event later in the year.
