Malouda injury scare
Chelsea's Florent Malouda
The Frenchman failed to finish the first half on Sunday as the Blues wrapped up their Premier League campaign with victory over Blackburn Rovers.
With the London side already missing several players through suspension and sweating on the fitness of defenders David Luiz and Gary Cahill, Malouda’s scare is a further unwanted complication.
Di Matteo, who rested many key players against Rovers, said of Malouda: "We took him off - precautionary - with a little problem with his hamstring.
"Hopefully he'll recover as soon as possible."
The news was not so good on Luiz and Cahill, with Di Matteo admitting their fight to get over their hamstring injuries would "probably" continue right up to the day of the final.
He added: "They are getting better day by day.
"We're going to try to push them this week in training and see how far we can take them."
