Emmanuel Emenike has vowed not to be bullied when he faces old team Fenerbahce in a Champions League clash in Turkey on Wednesday.

Turkey is already awashed with reports that the Nigeria striker will be arrested by police on arrival in Istanbul with his Russian club Spartak Moscow in connection with the match fixing scandal that rocked Turkey two seasons ago.

Emenike has been listed by Spartak to face his former club Fenerbache for the right to feature in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League.

The Super Eagles striker told MTNFootball.com he has no reason to stay away from his former base.

“I am not a criminal and nobody will arrest me in Turkey. The news was just to create attention by or to generate traffic for some websites,” he said.

“I don’t have any issues with Turkish police or FA. I was quizzed and I have been cleared that I am not guilty, so why are people talking about me being arrested if I go to Turkey.

“I often speak with people there and a lot of my friends over there are waiting for my arrival.”

He added: “I know nothing about the match fixing and I am happy that the court made it known to the world that I am an innocent man.

“Turkey is my home and it was only unfortunate that things went otherwise.”

The former Karabukspor of Turkey striker, who scored the opening goal for Spartak in a 2-1 win over Turkish giants Fenerbache in the first leg in Moscow, admitted to MTNFootball.com that he does not expect an easy game on Wednesday.

But at the same time he won’t be affected by any side attraction in Turkey as he is focused on ensuring his club qualify for the group stage of the Champions League.

“It is going to be a tough game, no doubt about that, both off and on the pitch, but I won’t be intimidated,” Emenike declared.

“I will go in there to put in my best as usual and lift my team. The fans could support their team anyway they like, but I won’t give room for any side attractions in Turkey.

“The most important thing is for us to remain focused and build on our first leg victory, then everything will be history. I am looking forward to return to Moscow celebrating victory.”
