Manchester United's Robin van Persie celebrates scoring
Manchester United had to come from a goal behind to beat CRF-Cluj 2-1in their Group H Champions League match at the Dr Constantin Radulescu stadium in Romania on Tuesday night.

In what should have been a routine win for Sir Alex Ferguson's men, the Red Devils were made to work for three points and they were certainly handed a scare early on when Cluj took the lead in the 14th minute through Pantelis Kapetanos.

The home side came out guns blazing and caught United unawares in the opening quarter of the game and they were rewarded for their efforts when Kapetonos found the back of the net.

Rafael Bastos pinged a great diagonal ball to Sougou who then produced a clever low pass across the face of goal to Kapetanos who swept the ball home with ease, 1-0.

After going a goal behind, and some ranting and raving from Fergson on the sideline, United appeared to wake from their slumber and began playing some top class football.

And it was only a matter of time before the visitors found the equaliser, the goal coming in the 29th minute.

Wayne Rooney created the goal as he whipped in a perfect left wing free-kick which found the head of Robin van Persie, and the Dutchman made no mistake with a clinical finish to cancel out Cluj's lead, 1-1.

Thereafter United continued to dictate terms, but for all their possession they couldn't take the lead going into the half time break.

Still, the Red Devils only had to wait four minutes after the restart before they did go in front.

Rooney and Van Persie combined again, this time in open play as a smart ball over the top from Rooney saw Van Persie through on goal. The Dutchman, though, still had work to do, but a sublime first touch saw the striker poke the ball past the keeper, 2-1.

After their second goal United continued to press forward, but they could not find a third goal and had to settle for a rather uncomfortable 2-1 win.
