Juve out to successfully defend Scudetto
Juventus are aiming to defend their Scudetto
Last year’s Scudetto triumph saw the Bianconeri pick up their 28th title in their history and they are on course in making it a second successive win as they lead the standings five points clear of Napoli and Lazio.
Since the turn of the Calciopoli match fixing scandal Juventus have struggled to get back their dominance on the footballing stage and Buffon is eager to put an end to their dry spell.
“Season ambitions? Our hopes for this season are to reclaim the Scudetto and confirm the supremacy we’ve lacked for too many years,” he said in a press conference on Wednesday.
“As far as Europe’s concerned, I believe Juve are back to being a competitive force and capable of giving as good as they get against any side – that’s what counts.”
Juventus will play Celtic in the round of the final 16 in the Champions League; another target set by the shot-stopper.
“I’d like to win the competitions that have eluded me so far in my career. I’ve won many honours, but there are trophies I still haven’t lifted, starting with the Champions League.”
