Milan eye Diarra but have wage problem
Lassana Diarra, Real Madrid
The Frenchman has been linked to Milan on several occasions throughout the years, but this time their interest has been confirmed by the agent who helps the Rossoneri carry through deals with the Spaniards.
“Diarra is a player who Milan would really like,” Bronzetti told SpazioMilan.it. “At this moment he is still on holiday in the United States. In his return to Europe I believe he will come to life.”
However, the problem that comes in for Milan is the wage bill of the player, who may be asking for more than what they can afford.
“His contract with Real Madrid expires in 2013, this means that the boy would leave for little. The problem, however, is represented from the salary: he earns 4.5 million euros per season.”
Milan are already on a tight budget as it is, and it is understood that they may consider selling Thiago Silva due to his high wage demands of €7.8m a season. Should the Brazilian go, it opens up the possibility of Diarra joining, as he and Thiago Silva share the same earnings.
