Kevin Constant says it was important for him to ‘play well’ against Chelsea and that Milan ‘put in a good display’.

The Guinean featured in the Rossoneri’s preseason friendly against Chelsea in Miami on Saturday afternoon, in a match which the Champions League winners lost 1-0 to an Urby Emanuelson goal.

“It was important to start well with my teammates,” the on-loan midfielder told acmilan.it. “I started my pre-season slightly later than the rest of the squad due to injury, and so it is only over the last few days I have been working seriously with the team.

“It was important to play well, not to be frightened, and I think it all went well. Now I have to learn how to fit in to the team game, how Milan plays and the movement of my teammates.

“We put on a good display against Chelsea, we perhaps missed one chance too many, but it was important to create those chances.

“Also, coming away with a victory was important because it boosts our confidence and we hope to continue like this.”
