Thiago Silva has admitted that he “wanted to continue playing in Milan with Ibra” but the Swede had a hand in his decision to join Paris Saint-Germain.

The Brazilian was originally expected to head over to Paris by himself but after PSG’s sporting director Leonardo made a combined mega offer for the pair, the Rossoneri found it difficult to refuse.

However, the final decision went down to Zlatan Ibrahimovic of whether or not the pair would go or stay.

“We talked before signing with Paris Saint-Germain,” the defender told Globoesporte.  “I wanted to continue playing in Milan with Ibra, but eventually we reached a turning point and we decided to play with the PSG.

“I want to make the history with the French club.

“I'm happy and I feel privileged because I play alongside Ibrahimovic, one of the best strikers in the world. Besides being a great striker, is also a friend of mine.”
