Mattia De Sciglio’s agent believes his Italy call-up was ‘unexpected’ as he joins four other players to face England.

Cesare Prandelli’s Azzurri will play their first friendly, since the European final, on August 15th against England, and five Milan players have been given the nod; including the 19-year-old De Sciglio.

After being handed his debut for Milan last season, the versatile full-back has been an integral part of the Rossoneri’s preseason form- earning him a spot in this week’s coming friendly.

"It's good news, and I would say very unexpected,” De Sciglio’s agent Donato Orgononi told calciomercato. “We first thought of the Under-21 hypothesis and then eventually the call of the National Staff.

“Mattia is growing before our eyes and we're all happy.”

De Sciglio will join fellow teammates Ignazio Abate and Antonio Nocerino, whilst Francesco Acerbi and Stefan El Shaarawy have been handed their first call-ups too.
