Nigeria U20 striker Sani Emmanuel was the hero as Lazio held hosts Roma to a 1-1 draw in a reserves’ league game.

Roma were leading 1-0 before Sani Emmanuel was introduced in the second half and justified his inclusion with the equalising goal Wednesday.

"I thank God for the goal. It was a memorable one. Now we are on top and will play in an eight-team tournament to decide the overall winners of the league," Emmanuel told MTNFootball.com

Meanwhile, Emmanuel’s compatriot, Onazi Ogenyi, who was on from start to finish against Roma, said he was delighted with the draw even though he would have loved to score a goal in the game.

"It was a good game. We did our best to win but it was not to be. The draw was good though I would have loved to score in the game,” Ogenyi said.

“I am looking forward to winning the eight-team competition which I will dedicate to Prophet T.B Joshua, who I owe a lot for my career.”

Ogenyi has scored 11 goals in the league while Emmanuel has seven goals.
