Crisis ridden: Inter Milan players stand dejected after Tottenham Hotspur score their third goal of the game
With the Champions League place having slipped further out of their grasp, Inter will face the daunting task of travelling away to meet Sampdoria.

The fixture will take place on Sunday afternoon, at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris, with kick-off at 16h00 (CAT).

Inter seem to be caught in a swell of troubled waters of late as they have had to endure a series of results which has seen their ambitions of Champions League football next season diminish.

Two wins in the last six domestic games has put an immense amount of pressure on coach Andrea Stramaccioni’s future at the club and he has admitted it is a confidence thing that has affected his squad.

“I need to find the way to get this team's confidence back. That's something we're lacking at the moment,” he said in the wake of the Europa League match against Tottenham Hotspurs.

"It's my job to take stock of the negative moment we're in and get the team playing confidently again. Personally I prefer to see the glass half full. At the end of the year we'll weigh everything up.

"A coach must always keep a clear head. There's work to do but we're determined to lift ourselves out of this situation.”

In addition, the injury crisis at Inter has by no means helped their cause to turn things around as they have no less than eight players on the causality list, while Juan Jesus will have to serve a one-match suspension- further limiting their options.

In an ironic twist of fate across in Genoa, things seem to be going well for the newly promoted side.

Sampdoria have only lost one of their last four Serie A outings and are yet to lose a home fixture since the turn of the New Year, giving them a huge confidence booster ahead of the encounter with the knowledge that Inter are notoriously bad travelers this season.

Adding further relief to Delio Rossi is the fact Angelo Palombo and Daniele Gastaldello will both be fit for the fixture and they will undoubtedly go out to cause an upset.

One way or another, Inter have to turn things around and there will be no better time than the present.
