Lyon want to end on a high note
Lyon coach, Remi Garde
The team now have a six-point lead on Rennes and
Saint-Etienne at two weeks before the end of the season, and it would take an
enormous turn around for the Lyonnais to let their place in the last four slip.
But this does not mean that the Gones will not take their remaining
games seriously, as they have set a last goal for themselves.
“We’re not on holiday yet because we have another
goal, which is to improve on our points tally from last season to have no
regrets with regards to the Champions League. We
will then be able to say that we did not qualify because three teams had a
fabulous season,” stated Rémi Garde’s assistant, Bruno Genesio following the
win in Annecy.
Lying in sixteenth spot at only two points from
the first team threatened by relegation, Ajaccio have not yet assured their
survival in the elite and have a crucial need for points against Lyon at home, before
heading to Toulouse in the last week.
The Corsicans were defeated against Evian last
weekend, following their valuable victory against Sochaux, and they must at
least win a point from a draw at home to avoid a final clash with a knife at
their throats.
