Parisian ogre against the minnows
PSG’s latest recruit, Thiago Motta
Following in Maxwell and Alex’
footsteps, it was Inter Milan midfielder, Thiago Motta who headed for Paris
over this exchange period.
It seems Leonardo’s Brazilian
network is already functioning at full throttle.
After reaching number 1
in the Ligue 1 before the winter break, before the arrival of this luxurious
trio, the club from the capital seems to be preparing for next season already, be
that on a national level or in preparation for European competition.
Carlo Ancelotti’s men have earned
themselves five wins and a draw in the Ligue 1 of late, and with a team that is
getting up to speed day by day, hosting Evian should be no more than a
formality.
And this even more so given the fact that
the Savoyards have never won an away game, despite their respectable 12th
position in the league standings.
With Montpellier constantly
badgering them – a team that is maintaining its difference of three points from
the leader as best it can - PSG cannot afford the smallest faux pas in its long distance duel with this team that has the
luxury of playing under a lot less pressure than its leader.
As more new and prestigious arrivals
come in this summer in preparation for the Champions League, PSG have fewer and
fewer excuses not to triumph this
year on the national front.
