PSG want first win in Ajaccio
Parisian midfielder, Clément Chantôme
Paris Saint-Germain head to Ajaccio on Sunday in the second week of the Ligue 1 (kick-off at 21h00 CAT).
After being held to a draw by Lorient 2-2 at the Parc des Princes last weekend, the Parisians are hoping to bounce back very quickly to justify their status of grand favourite this 2012-2013 season.
So Carlo Ancelotti’s men are heading to Corsica for a win, to face an Ajaccio outfit brimming with confidence after their win 1-0 in Nice during the first week.
“Now, with the status that we have, we have to win every match. When we have dropped points at home, the objective is to go out and collect them elsewhere. So we are obviously going to Ajaccio to secure a win,” stated Parisian midfielder Clément Chantôme in a press conference.
Although he is slightly injured on the right heel, Zlatan Ibrahimovic should still be joining the group for this match. However Thiago Silva, who has just joined his teammates after having participated in the Olympic Games, then an international friendly against Brazil, has been left to recuperate.
On the other hand, they may be aware of the quality of the Parisian team, but club president Orsoni’s men are not letting themselves be intimidated.
“In football, anything is possible, even if we are faced with very good players. We are not going to talk about budgets anymore, about the financial gulf that exists between PSG and ACA.
"I don’t really like to say it, but we have nothing to lose against the Parisians… It remains eleven players against eleven players and we will give everything,” stated the Corsican playmaker, Johan Cavalli on the club’s website.
