Jose Antonio Reyes says they have to be alert in the first half in order to do well against Atletico Madrid
Sevilla midfielder Jose Antonio Reyes says they have to be alert in the first half in order to do well against Atletico Madrid on Thursday night.

The two sides will met in the first leg of their Copa del Rey semifinal at the Vicente Calderon Stadium with the aim of booking a meeting with either Barcelona or Real Madrid in the final.

“We are going there with the mentality of playing a good game; we know that the semifinal will be played over two legs, but we will try to eliminate Atletico Madrid,” said Reyes.

“They always dominate the match in the first 45 minutes, therefore in the first half we have to be very alert.

"We are going to the capital of Spain with enthusiasm, we've had a different spirit in recent matches and the important thing is to progress through to the final.”

Reyes had a spell with Atletico before joining Sevilla midway through the 2011/12 season, and he highlighted a few players that they have to watch out for, including their top striker Radamel Falcao, who is doubtful for the game due to injury.

“I do not know if Falcao will play but he’s a great player and it’s better for us if he’s not there,” said Reyes.

“But they have other great players like Diego Costa, who is a real fighter and Diego Godin, who is a very solid defender and difficult to beat.”

The return leg will take place at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium on February 27.
