Lopez doubtful for Dortmund clash
Diego Lopez: Is doubtful for Dortmund clash
The former Sevilla goalkeeper suffered a knock on his ribs during Saturday’s 3-1 La Liga win over Real Betis and has missed two sessions of training.
The 31-year-old was able to do some running and light training but his condition will be monitored after he was unable to take long kicks during the second half against Betis.
Lopez’ agility and freedom of movement will be ascertained by the goalkeeping coach Silvino Louro, and should he be unable to play, Iker Casillas could make his return to the starting lineup.
Casillas has not featured for Real Madrid since fracturing his hand in a Cope del Rey clash against Valencia in January this year.
Although he has been fit to play since late March, he has been unable to displace Lopez from the starting eleven.
