Eagles star Nosa Igiebor has said he hopes to score on his Real Betis debut on Monday night at Real Valladolid.

Igiebor’s Betis face a Valladolid side who have won their first two games and the Nigeria midfielder told MTNFootball.com he would love to mark his bow in the Spanish La Liga with a goal.

“I want to score on my debut, just as I did for the Super Eagles against Liberia,” said Igiebor, who moved in the summer from Israeli club Hapoel Tel-Aviv.

“I believe I will make my debut this weekend. I don’t feel any pressure playing football because I love the game and always go out there to have fun.

“Before the game against Liberia, I told my roommate and some of my friends I would score and they believed me. I’m delighted to have scored on my competitive debut for the Eagles.”

Betis are 12th on the La Liga table with three points from two matches.

Igiebor first appeared for the Eagles in a friendly against Zambia in November before he started against the Lone Star of Liberia on Saturday in a 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier, which ended in a 2-2 draw.

“I will score myself 60% in this game. This was not my best game because my best is still to come. I won’t blame the pitch, but we played on a farmland. Nigerians will see more of me when we play on a better pitch and I will do more when I’m given the chance,” he said.

He demanded for a more stable national team for Nigeria to regain their rightful place in the game.

“We do not have a stable team yet, a set of players played this game (vs Liberia) and a different set will likely play the next game. We don’t understand ourselves and we will only do so when we have a group of players who have being together for some time,” Igiebor said.

He said that the Eagles took their foot off the pedal in Monrovia and paid for this as the home team fought back to draw 2-2.

“When we were 2-1 up, we relaxed a bit, we thought we could even win this game 4-1 because it was looking easy, but Liberia came back and drew level and they gained in confidence thereafter,” the midfielder reported.
