Cata joins Atletico Madrid

The 32-year-old has been solid at the back since joining Getafe from Boca Juniors and had been linked to a number of clubs including Sevilla.
Atletico Madrid sporting director, José Luis Pérez Caminero confirmed that the player is due to undergo a medical before signing the contact.
"He is a player with a great personality and a winning mentality. He knows our league well and he’s proven his quality at Getafe, with whom he has qualified for Europe twice,” said Caminero.
"We expect him to bring defensive knowledge and experience, as well as assist in the development of his younger teammates, who’ll see him as a role model."
Cata becomes the third player to join the current Europa League champions after Cristian Rodríguez from Porto and Emre from Fenerbahce.
