Navas: Spain’s secret weapon
Jesus Navas, Spain
“The coach asked me to open the field when we are faced with a difficult defence, to use my pace and to get the ball into dangerous areas,” he told El des Marque.
"Italy is a team that can be tight at the back and that is fine, but I can be one of the options.
"It will be awkward to play against them, but we must think of our style.
“They are usually strong at the back but they also have quality players and midfielders and forward who can create danger."
Despite the absence of leading striker David Villa due to injury, Navas says he has confidence in their forwards, including Sevilla teammate Alvaro Negredo.
“We have very good strikers and everyone can do well,” he said.
“It's nice because we are all here to contribute and (Fernando) Llorente, (Fernando) Torres and Negredo are very important players."
