Igiebor's new pay demand scuppers Betis move
Igiebor demanded for more cash
According to a report on the Real Betis official website, the deal was called off by the club after the Nigeria international midfielder requested for an increased salary when he had initially agreed on a certain amount.
"Real Betis announce that they are breaking off negotiations with the player Nosa Igiebor," a statement on the club's official site read.
"We had reached an agreement with both the player and his club Hapoel Tel Aviv, but in the last few hours the player has requested a wage increase that was not already agreed.
"The club view this as lacking respect, seriousness and professionalism which we will not accept.”
The 21-year-old Igiebor, who has also been capped by Nigeria at Olympic level, was close to joining up with the Spanish La Liga club, who once featured former Nigeria star Finidi George.
Last season, Betis placed 13th in the Spanish La Liga.
