Sevilla midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia says he is looking forward to settling into the squad after making his debut.

The 19-year-old midfielder recently joined the club on a five-year-deal from French side Lens.

On Wednesday night he came on as a substitute and featured for 20 minutes during Sevilla’s pre-season friendly against Girona.

"I'm happy about the first game and playing with my teammates,” Kondogbia told reporters during a press conference.

“In a big club like Sevilla you have to adapt quickly and I am pleased to have been able to play these minutes."

The French under-19 international believes he will adapt quickly as he is already close with Jose Campana, who plays for Spain’s under-19 side, while Emir Spahic and Senegalese forward Baba Diawara speak French.

"I have discussed everything with Baba and Spahic, because they also speak my language, and that makes things easier for me,” he said.

“I know Jose Campana because I played two games against him and it’s very good to meet again here on the team."
