Dani Alves has confirmed that he will take part in a tribute match for Frederic Kanoute to be held on September 25.

The Malian striker will be honoured for his seven years of service to the club which ended when he left at the end of last season to join Chinese side Beijing Guoan.

The match will take place at Sevilla’s Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan between a team made up of former and current Sevilla players, as well as a World Invitational side.

Alves played for Sevilla for six years before leaving to join Barcelona in 2008 and will now return to wear the club’s colours for this event.

Another former player who has confirmed his availability is retired defender Pablo Alfaro, who starred for Sevilla from 2000 to 2005, and is currently coaching lower division side CD Leganes.

All proceeds from the match will be donated to the Kanoute Foundation and UNICEF.
