Former Barcelona midfielder Seydou Keita has joined Chinese club Dalian Aerbin on a two-year deal for 14 million euros.

On Saturday the Catalans announced that the player had terminated his contract with the club due to a clause which allowed him to leave on a free transfer if he failed to start at least 50 percent of the matches.

His move to the Chinese side was confirmed when the CEO, Li Ming, published a photo on his Twitter account showing him together with the Mali international, who is set to wear number 20 at the club.

A number of Barcelona players have sent their wishes to their former teammate through their Twitter accounts with Gerard Pique saying: “It has been a luxury sharing a dressing room with you for four years. Seydou Keita, a model on and off the pitch. Good luck friend!"

Keita joined Barcelona in 2008 from Sevilla, whom he joined from French side Lyon in 2007.
