Everton into FA Cup quarterfinals
Everton saw off League One hopefuls Oldham Athletic to make the FA Cup quarterfinals
Kevin Mirallas settled any early nerves for the Toffees and Leighton Baines fired home from the spot to put the Premier League side in complete control at the interval.
Leon Osman glanced in a third for Everton, meaning a solitary reply from Matt Smith could not prevent David Moyes' men from booking a home date with Wigan Athletic in the last eight.
Despite the absence of injured talisman Marouane Fellaini, Everton were convincing winners.
Mirallas opened the scoring after 15 minutes at Goodison Park with a side-footed half-volley from close range before Baines doubled the home side's lead with a successful penalty 18 minutes later.
Oldham goalkeeper Dean Bouzanis fumbled Osman's 62nd minute header to gift the home side a 3-0 lead but Matt Smith gave the travelling fans something to smile about with a headed goal of his own almost immediately after the restart as the game ended 3-1.
