Brazilian club Sao Paulo has revived its bid to extend Denilson's loan deal from Arsenal.

Sao Paulo vice-president Joao Paulo de Jesus Lopes told Globo Esporte that they had asked director of football Adalberto Baptista to engage Arsenal officials over the Brazilian clubs’ proposal.

"Arsenal's staff want him to return but we are waiting for [director of football] Adalberto Baptista to have talks with them," De Jesus Lopes said.

Sao Paulo's decision comes over a week after they said they could not afford to keep him after Arsenal demanded €6million (£4.9million) for a permanent move.

"Maybe we will manage to extend the loan for six more months or even another year," De Jesus Lopes said.

Arsenal has recalled 24-year-old Denilson to the Emirates after a season long loan back in his homeland.
