Mirror Football reports that Arsenal is prepared to go toe-to-toe with Chelsea for the French international’s services.
Arsenal are hopeful of snapping up the 25-year-old winger who is believed to welcome interest from The Gunners because he does not believe he would get regular playing time at Chelsea.
Ben Arfa, who is currently on Euro 2012 duty with France, joined Newcastle from Marseille in August 2010 initially on loan before the deal was made permanent shortly thereafter.
