Victor Moses claims Chelsea, Liverpool interest
Victor Moses says he is wanted by Chelsea and Liverpool
Moses to quit Wigan
Nigeria international Victor Moses has said top English Premier
League clubs Chelsea and Liverpool are interested in signing him.
The winger has yet to agree a new deal at Wigan Athletic after helping them to stay afloat in the English top flight.
And his agent Tony Finnigan has said the 21-year-old forward, who is valued at 10 million pounds, could soon quit his modest English club.
Moses himself said in an interview with MTNFootball.com Wednesday that he is yet to decide on his future but there has been interest from Chelsea and Liverpool.
“I don’t know for now (whether I will move), but there’s a link for me to Liverpool, Chelsea and some other clubs in England. If the offer is cool, why not I will move,” Moses said in Abuja.
Moses still has a year left on his contract at Wigan, who have reportedly tabled him an extension which however, falls short of the player’s expectations.
He also said he would love to star in the Italian Serie A at some point in his career.
“I’m looking at (playing in) Italy, but that would be much later in my career,” he said.
The player, who fled Nigeria as an 11-year-old child following the murder of his parents in Kaduna during a religious uprising in the northern Nigeria city of Kaduna, is set for his third Super Eagles appearance in Malawi this weekend after he featured against Rwanda and Namibia recently.
“We did well in Calabar against Namibia and we hope to win in Malawi. We just have to take chances very well because they are not going to come out to play us, just like Namibia did,” said Moses.
“It’s kind of nice in the Eagles, obviously we have some big names and everyone here is working week in, week out. And I believe that we will qualify for the World Cup.”
