Last season, Chelsea were surprise winners of the UEFA Champions League and also triumphed in the FA Cup under caretaker manager Roberto Di Matteo.
However, ‘The Blues’ only finished in sixth place in the English Premier League.
And the former Lyn Oslo of Norway playmaker said they must make use of their success in UEFA Champions League as a springboard to challenge for all trophies at stake in the coming season.
"We did not do well in the league last season and our position on the table testifies to that. We were not consistent, we have to work on that in the new season as that is the major factor that can make us win the league and other trophies in England,” Nigeria international Mikel said.
"We have to build on our success in Europe last season we should be focused and use the Champions League and the FA Cup victories as a platform to achieve more because winning the Champions League has raised our status and we have to maintain that.
“Though some players have left, but with the players around now, old and new ones, we will achieve more in the coming season, we will continue striving for more trophies."
