Nigeria defender Kenneth Omeruo will no longer be part of Chelsea pre-season in the US because his visa to England will come through late.

The European champions had planned to have a closer look at the Nigeria U20 star after he shone on loan to Dutch club ADO Den Haag last season.

“His visa to the UK will not be granted till about three weeks and this will be late for him to join Chelsea for the pre-season tour of the US,” a top source close to the player informed MTNFootball.com

“This means we now have to be looking at possibly January for him to now be with Chelsea for a short stint.

“In the meantime, Kenneth has joined Den Haag for pre-season training near Arnhem.”

The 18-year-old Omeruo posted a superb debut in Europe last season as he helped Den Haag to stay put in the Dutch top flight.
