Liverpool will play a crucial Europa league tie against Udinese on Thursday before Saturday’s league game against West Ham.

The Reds are currently in second place in Group A with seven points, three less than the leaders Anzhi Makhachkala, and tied with Young Boys.

A win will be enough to seal their passage to the next round, while a draw or loss could see them crashing out of the competition, depending on the outcome of the other game.

Coach Brendan Rodgers was pleased with the performance during the 1-0 win over Southampton over the weekend, and he is hoping that his side will carry this momentum into the upcoming games.

"The domination in the game was terrific, the method in our game, the way we passed and created chances was fantastic,” he told reporters.

“Our only disappointment was the final ball. Apart from that, I thought we were sensational.

"The shape of the team was very, very good. They all shared the ball, they all pressed very well."

Liverpool will then travel to the Boleyn Ground to face West Ham on Saturday looking to move up from their current position in 11th place.

However, the Hammers are fresh from a big 3-1 win over Chelsea and will be a tough challenge for the Reds, who will be missing top striker Luis Suarez due to suspension.
