Shittu out of QPR
English Championship side Millwall boss Kenny Jackett has expressed delight on the arrival of experienced Nigeria defender Danny Shittu.

The former QPR star joined Millwall, a team he featured for in the 2005/2006 season, on a free transfer on Monday on a year’s deal.

Last season, the big central defender, who has been frozen out by Nigeria since the 2010 World Cup,  was surplus to requirement at QPR in the English Premier League.

Jackett, who had expressed his desire to sign a centre back before the season’s start, said he believes Shittu's experience will help the team.

"I am very pleased to add another experienced defender to the squad," he told the Millwall official website.

"Danny has excellent championship pedigree and will make a contribution in ensuring we are defensively strong."
