Roberto Mancini has given Juventus a boost in their hopes of signing Robin van Persie after he admitted he doesn’t think the player will arrive.

Van Persie, who told Arsenal he will not sign a contract extension, has been head-hunted by various European outfits, including Manchester City and Juventus.

Despite the Bianconeri having suggested that the player is out of their reach, hope has since returned after the former Inter coach admitted he cannot see the Dutchman arriving.

"Van Persie? No, I don't think he will come here,” Mancini told Sky Sport Italia, before admitting a move to Serie A would be unlikely for Edin Dzeko too.

"I'm pleased, as this means we have good players, but it's pretty unlikely he will leave," added the Italian.

"He is right to say it's no fun being on the bench, but when you join a big club then competition is normal."
