Reds look to end Spurs title hopes
Sixth-placed Liverpool will be looking to put an end to Tottenham Hotspurs’ Premier League title dream by inflicting defeat on them when they meet on Monday for a 10pm kick-off.
The match will be played at Liverpool’s ground Anfield, where they will be looking to gain a second successive win since their shock defeat at the hands of Bolton.
Though Tottenham will be by far a stronger force then their last adversaries of Wolves, Kenny Dalglish will be hoping that Andy Carroll will be able to find the back of the net in back-to-back matches.
The 23-year-old managed to break his duck against Wolves on Tuesday and will be hoping that he will continue to ride the confidence wave when meeting Tottenham.
In addition to having seen all three strikers find the back of the net on Tuesday, another striker will be at Dalglish’s disposition as Luis Suarez s set to make his return following his eight-match ban for racial abuse.
Nevertheless, Harry Redknapp will have an extra firing power upfront in the shape of Luis Saha, who will be set to make his debut for the club after joining from Everton.
Along with Gareth Bale, Rafael van der Vaart should be fit for the match, despite being taken off during the match against Wigan for a suspected niggle to his calf.
The Coys will be desperate for a win in order to maintain the pressure on both Manchester clubs, who are leading the league standings, and they will undoubtedly refuse to sit back against the Reds.
