Lucas Barrios came on from the bench to ensure that Borrusia Dortmund secure all three points in their meeting with Nurnberg.

Sebastian Kehl opened the scoring and Barrios nailed the final coffin as Dortmund spends the night at the summit of the log table.

In a game of two halves Borrusia Dortmund were the first launch attacks at the hosts.

Kevin Grosskreuts and Robert Lewandowski were both judged to be offside inside the first 5 minutes.

Moments later, Nurnberg also launched their first attacks of the game and managed to win two corner-kicks from which Timmy Simons almost opened the scoring.

Adam Hlousek also got in a strike in the 14th minute, but he was denied on the line by Shinji Kagawa's clearance.

Sven Bender picked an injury and had to be substituted in the 22nd minute.

Lewandowski smashed in a great shot on target in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper was well positioned.

Christian Eargler also had a chance to open the scoring for his side, but his header went wide in the 40th minute.

But in the second half, it did not take Dortmund long to register their first of the night.

In the 48th minute, Lukas Piszeck was the architect when Sebastian Kehl opened the scoring in the 48th minute.

After the goal the game looked as if it was slipping away from Dortmund, however, Nurnberg failed to capitalise in any of the many chances they created.

Timothy Chandler's well taken effort in the 61st minute was well dealt with by Weidenfeller.

Kuba tried one of his trademark passes as he saw Barrios through, but he was controversially whistled for offside.

Lucas Barrios repaid the Dortmund faithfuls for his stay at the club with Dortmund's 2nd to make it 2-0 in the 82nd minute.

Kuba tried to round off his fine game and Dortmund’s performance with a 3rd goal but was judged off-side.

With this win, Dortmund will spend the night as log leaders, while rivals, Schalke and Bayern Munich play their matches tomorrow.
