Sakuwaha Head To Zambia On A High
Jonas Sakuwaha of Zambia
El Merreikh beat fifth placed Al Ahly Shendi 2-0 away to stay second on the Sudan Premier League table on 33 points, four behind leaders and defending champions Al Hilal.
Sakuwaha said he was excited to be heading to the Zambia camp in South Africa on Wednesday armed with a goal ahead of the June 2 clash against Sudan in a 2014 World Cup Group D qualifier back at his base in Khartoum.
"We have won 2-0 and I scored the first goal," Sakuwaha told MTNFootball.com in a post-match interview from Khartoum.
"This win and goal give me a lot of courage and confidence."
Sakuwaha is expected to join Zambia in Johannesburg by Wednesday midday as the African champions enter their third day of training camp in South Africa.
Earlier on Tuesday, five players from TP Mazembe in DR Congo arrived in Johannesburg to bring the number of players in camp to 17.
Rainford Kalaba, Nathan Sinkala, Francis Kasonde and Stopilla Sunzu all arrived by midday Tuesday while their sixth player Given Singuluma was still being expected.
