TP Mazembe invited Zanaco for Friendly
Rainford Kalaba of TP Mazembe
Senior Zanaco sources told MTNFootball.com that the club was just awaiting clearance from the Football Association of Zambia to travel on a charter for the friendly.
"We have got the confirmation but tentatively the team will fly out on Friday and come back on Sunday," the Zanaco official said.
"But we need to get clearance from FAZ and the national sports council."
However, FAZ have said no clearance has been issued despite receiving Mazembe's official request to host Zanaco.
"We have not yet made a decision on the matter," FAZ communications officer Erick Mwanza said.
Meanwhile, Zanaco have a league commitment this weekend away to Napsa Stars in Lusaka with uncertainly still in the air as to whether it will take place.
"The situation remains that Zanaco will play their league game against Napsa," Mwanza said.
"If we grant them permission they will travel but if we say no, then it will be their baby to worry about."
Zanaco currently lead the MTN/FAZ Super Division table on 37 points, two more than second placed Zesco.
