Nyambe Mulenga: Zesco will bounce back
Nyambe Mulenga believes Zesco United can recover from their 2-1 loss to Zanaco and still make a strong case in the league title race.
Second placed Zesco suffered a big physiological blow in their bid for the 2012 MTN/FAZ Super Division title after losing 2-1 away to leaders Zanaco on Saturday in Lusaka.
The Zambia defender told MTNFootball.com that the race was still wide open with 14 games left to play.
"We have to win our remaining games but this league is ours," Mulenga said.
"I believe in my team mates and I believe in myself. There is no way we can fail to win the league."
Zanaco's win saw them stretch their lead at the top from two to four points over Zesco on 36 and 32 points respectively.
Meanwhile, the defeat was a blow for Zesco who beat Zanaco 1-0 in the first leg meeting on March 25 in Ndola.
Furthermore, Zesco have stuttered since surrendering the lead to Zanaco in early June and have not won a single game since May 27 when they beat hosts National Assembly 1-0 away in Lusaka.
Zesco have since then collected three draws and two defeats.
