Three-time Zambia Super Division champions Zesco United have been invited for a four-club tournament in Cape Town next month.

Zesco are one of two Zambian clubs invited for the tournament together with 2011 MTN/FAZ Super Division side runners up Red Arrows.

The Zambian clubs will face Ajax Cape Town and Santos in the friendly tournament that will run from February 3-5.

“It has always been traditional for Zesco to travel outside the country before the new season," Zesco club secretary Justin Mumba told MTNFootball.com.

"It gives us a chance to understand how players from other countries play."

Zesco undertook a pre-season trip to Dubai in 2007 and regularly take part in friendly tournaments in Tanzania at this time of the year.

Mumba said the 2010 league champions are also talking to SuperSport United about playing them in a pre-season friendly on February 7.

The tournament will mark Zesco coach Wedson Nyirenda's first engagement since he returned for a second stint starting this year.

Nyirenda was in charge at Zesco from 2007 to 2008 when he won back-to-back league titles with the Ndola club
