Nkana striker Evans Kangwa says their demotion fight begins this Saturday against Konkola Mine Police.

Nkana are hovering just above the relegation zone in 13th place with 21 points from 20 matches played and must win against Konkola Mine to remain outside the drop zone.

"It is important, our aim is to win tomorrow's game," Kangwa said.

"A win will help us to move up the league table. A win will help us to remain in the Super Division."

The two sides’ first meeting this season ended 1-1 in Chililabombwe.

Meanwhile, one point separates Nkana from Nakambala Leopards who are just below them who host Green Eagles on the same day in their provincial derby in Mazabuka.

Moreover, Nkana have returned to their old ways collecting just one point from their last two games since ending the three-month, 13-game winless run on July 27 with a 1-0 home win over Green Buffaloes.

Kangwa too is well aware of the importance of getting the vital three points at home this weekend in Kitwe against promoted Mine Police who are eighth on the table and seven points adrift of their hosts.

"It will also be a morale booster before we play (second placed) Zesco United," Kangwa said.
